  • A married couple whose pets are buried in the cemetery bought the Narrows Pet Cemetery in 2001. The cemetery foreclosed in 2001, meaning money for maintenance was lost. The current owners removed the collapsing house, barn, and acres of brush. There are no buildings left on the property. It appears the husband was buried there in 2003. (I heard several people are buried there.) The surviving wife’s brother now takes care of it; it was on top of a full time job. It is 19 acres. At minimum, it takes a full day to mow, and another full day to run the line trimmer, so sometimes the grass gets long and things don’t get attention. The owner kept the cemetery from a real estate developer. The township refuses to take care of it. The money and labor is basically all donated.

The houses and woods sharing the driveway with the cemetery are not part of the cemetery. The residents of the houses do look out for the cemetery. Having a road sign advertising the cemetery's presence would increase the amount of litter, vandalisms, thefts, and illegal hunting, so replacement of the sign is hard to justify. Visitors seem to otherwise be welcome, if they can find it.
